How to Play

Play Low's Adventures 2 online for free. Low's Adventures 2 is a 32-stage retro platforming game where you have to avoid dangerous spikes, enemies and cannon fire while collecting 5 coins on each level. Use unique moving platforms, springs, and an umbrella to help you along your journey to find the golden cup at the end of each level. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Press ENTER or click anywhere on the game loading screen to bring up the game’s welcome screen.

Select PLAY GAME on the game welcome screen.
- If it is your first game play you will start on the first level.
- If you have played the game before your web browser saves your game progress & you’ll start on whichever level you played the last time.
- The welcome screen has a button in the lower left corner to reset your game progress.

    - To jump you can press W or the up arrow key.

        The move left & right buttons are in the lower left corner.
        
        The jump button is in the lower right corner.
        
        Controls & indicators
        
        The game has a home button in the upper left corner & a sound control button in the upper right corner.
        
        The welcome screen shows how many of the 32 levels you have completed.
        
        Game Play
        Enemies
        There are mainly 4 types of enemies in this game: cannon balls, blue goblins, spike pumpkins & bouncing eyes.
        Cannons fire cannon balls on a regular cadence horizontally or vertically. You should simply avoid the cannon fire to survive.
        You can only defeat the spike pumpkins by attacking them from the bottom with a well timed move up a ladder, though generally you have to jump over them.
        In most spots you go under the bouncing eyes, though there is one level where you have to jump over one.
        The blue goblins can be killed by landing on them after jumping or falling off of a platform.
        On some levels they stay on platform, whereas on other levels they respawn.
        On the levels where they stay on platform, many of them have coins.
        On the levels where they respawn the respawning enemies do not have coins.
        
        Dying
        
        You die if you fall off platform or get hit twice cumulative within a level by other enemies & obstacles including spikes, cannon balls, pumpkins, bouncing eyes, or blue goblins.
        
        This game offers unlimited continues & starts you at the beginning of the level you died on.
        
        Game features
        
        This game consists of the standard fare of most platforming games where you can single jump & can defeat enemies by jumping on them. A few other extras this game offers are:
        
        Red switches you must hit to make some platforms appear and/or make other platforms disappear.
        
        On some levels you have to hit the switches early, while on other levels you have to collect all the coins before activating the switch.
        
        Umbrellas allow you to float when you jump, which enables you to cover a broader horizontal region for the vertical height of a fall.
        
        After jumping let go of the jump button then press it again and hold it in to float.
        
        When you use the umbrella and are playing with a keyboard it can be helpful to use the left and right arrows to move left and right, while using the W key to control your float, enabling you to repeatedly switch left / right directions without risking turning off the umbrella’s parachute gliding effect.
        
        You only have a regular single jump in this game. There is no double jump feature. There are a couple ways to jump higher though.
        
        Some levels have springs on them which you can jump on to get more elevation on your jump.
        
        If you jump onto an enemy while holding the jump button in you can bounce up high, which allows you to get onto higher platforms.
        
        Ladders
        
        When you climb ladders in this game you can not stop half way, but rather rapidly ascend to the top.
        
        Levels
        
        This game has 32 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        
        Whenever you beat a level you can not go back and replay that level without erasing your game progress and replaying all levels up until that point.
        
        Coins
        
        Levels have five coins on them you must collect.
        
        On most levels the coins are just sitting out there in the open & you have to collect them, but on some levels you have to defeat some of the blue goblins to get the coins to appear.
        
        After collecting all 5 coins on each level a gold cup appears somewhere on the stage.
        
        The game makes a sound when the gold cup appears.
        
        Reach the gold cup to beat the level.
        
        The cup can be located anywhere on the level.
        
        An arrow points to where the cup is located.
        
        This game is far more challenging than the original game. Unlimited continues helps, but there are many tricky gotchas. Some of the differences are highlighted below.

        Boss battle
        
        The final level is a boss battle against a giant blue goblin.
        
        You must jump on the blue goblin 15 times to defeat him, however you can not jump high enough to land on him unless you first jump off a smaller blue goblin and bounce high off it onto him.
        
        When you get on the big blue goblin you can bounce back and forth atop him to hit him many times in a row, but be sure to avoid incoming cannon fire from either side & falling blue goblins shot out from the center of the platform.
        
        If the blue goblin is near the edge of the platform and you are not atop it you can jump to a smaller platform on your side to avoid him until he moves back in the other direction.
        
        Target Audience
        
        The game is suited for players who like challenging platformer games.
        
        This game is much harder than the original, so this game is probably a better fit for older kids & adults who are experienced at gaming. Younger children will likely get frustrated as some of the difficult jumps & moving platforms in this game.
        
        Players who like this game will also like Low’s Adventures 3.
        
        The game has no adult themed content.
